Before I purchase a fresh pair of athletic shoes, I nearly always check Jennifer Garner’s Instagram to see what she wore during her last highly strenuous workout. “I view her as a professional athlete in terms of her physical capabilities,” Garner’s personal trainer, Beth Nicely, previously detailed to Shape. During a workout session, Nicely commented on the 50-year-old actress’s remarkable 33-inch box jump, which she aptly described as “pretty impressive.” Garner shared the incredible feat on Instagram, and naturally, I captured a screenshot to get a closer look at her sneakers. Within minutes, I identified them as the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22s.
Garner is quite familiar with Brooks, a brand endorsed by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). In fact, she has been wearing Brooks Glycerins for years, which is why I was intrigued to see her sporting a different style. But given the nature of the exercise, it makes sense for her to swap her usual pair for the Adrenalines: They are slightly lighter, yet still possess layers of protective cushioning necessary to absorb the impact of jumping and running. They incorporate a specialized arch that aids wearers in smoothly transitioning through each step. Most importantly, individuals prone to knee and foot discomfort rave about them.
“My initial run in my Adrenaline GTS 22s felt like a dream,” wrote one reviewer with sensitive joints, explaining that their feet felt “cushioned and supported,” and they experienced “no knee or heel discomfort.” Another wearer with persistently sore feet noted that their pain vanished “within hours” of wearing these sneakers. A third reviewer stated that they were so comfortable right out of the box that they were able to complete a 12K race without any blisters or pain whatsoever.
Jennifer Garner may not be aware of it, but her sneaker recommendations are always just what I need for my aching knees, and I will definitely be trying her latest choice as soon as possible. Purchase them at Zappos while they are on sale for $110.
